Fax for grabs.
Panasonic KX-F1000 plain paper fax/phone. I believe I have an extra spool of 'ribbon' for it as well. Was working when I last packed it up. I no longer need a fax, so this one, complete with original packaging, free to a good home. First come, first served, etc. | | Tuesday, October 28th, 2008 | | 1:59 pm |
One year, already!
About this time, last year, on this date... dancingdeer and I were married. One year already. Amazing! Here's to many, many more to come. :) Current Mood: enthralled | | Thursday, September 11th, 2008 | | 1:27 am |

On Being Late for Dinner: The Reason All true, and I have proof - unfortunately. Life remains stranger than fiction. As has been mentioned in the last post's comments, both myself and the pup are just fine. Sorry if I gave anyone a fright. With regret, though many of the ideas that people posited gave me a chuckle, none came even remotely close to the actuality of events. ( The sordid story lies within. Upon your head be it should you chose to read! )Amazingly enough, my dinner only ended up being four hours late. And now you know likely more than you wanted to. So. Did your wildest guesses come even close? | | Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 | | 12:27 am |
Status change...
... married now. So much work and planning and then it just zipped by so fast. Still getting used to this. Wow. :) Now I just need to remember to call dancingdeer 'wife.' (She says I can keep calling her 'dear' [deer?] though.) Current Mood: jubilant | | Friday, September 7th, 2007 | | 1:41 pm |
I have an extra ticket to "Man of La Mancha" at the Lyric Theater tonight, if anyone wants to join us last minute. It's $23.50, and the group (me, dancingdeer, redjo, jbsegal, H*, beah, and mrf_arch) will be meeting in the lobby 7:30 to 7:45 (show is at 8:00). Validated parking is available right next to the theater, I think it's $7 or $8 (validate at the theater). | | Friday, August 10th, 2007 | | 4:56 pm |

More Stuff To Go!
Yet more stuff I'm looking to find a new home for. I would prefer if people would be willing to offer a few dollars here and there for what they claim. I can bring claimed items into the Boston area and environs. Folks who want stuff shipped will need to pay for shipping, at the very least. To claim, post a comment here, or email me using my livejournal account (points at livejournal). First request, first served, and local takes precendence over mailing items.
There's still plenty of stuff to be claimed over here, too. Please take a peek.

I have a huge number of items I'm looking to get out of the house, as I continue along with my packing. All reasonable offers will be entertained. For folks in the Boston area, I can arrange to bring items into or near the city. Folks who want or need mail/shipping should please make a monetary offering. I'll try and mark items as claimed as they become no longer available. Large numbers of pictures below the cut. Please drop me a note (email to my LJ account) if you have questions, need more pictures, etc. Note that some items there may be more than one of. For items like the software, or matchbox cars, I'd prefer if people would take large batches of stuff, and not just one small bit of it. It'd make my life a lot easier. Weak grin

Calling upon the Freundgeist! "Speak now or..."
Pardon my newly made up word, but it does, in some essence, signify what it is I'm searching for. A friend, a day or two ago, commenting upon the oft-posed dramatic scene of the priest at a wedding doing the 'Speak now or forever hold your peace!' wondered when the proper time to speak your mind -is-... or even if speaking one's mind is proper (or when it might be). While my research indicates that this saying has been mostly relegated to the movies and TV for that extra melodramatic flourish, I do admit to no small amount of curiosity... what are people thinking? Given the chance, what might they say? dancingdeer and I spent some time talking about this, and would very much like to know what all our friends are thinking. Are we making a mistake? Do you have some reservations? Are you wondering what took us so long? Just want to wish us luck? Please, do help us out here, and drop a thought here or in a similar post in she has in her journal. We've both enabled anonymous commenting if you're afraid your comment might not be well received (or simply feel more comfortable supplying it in an anonymous fashion, I don't mean to be judgmental here). Thank you. Current Mood: curious | | Saturday, March 17th, 2007 | | 2:02 am |
Wayward packing...
As much as I love this house, for any number of reasons, 'tis time to set my sights closer to the city. That being said, if anyone knows anyone looking for a beautiful house that I've spent a lot of time on, near Worcester... let me know. :) Anyhow, I have a -lot- of stuff to pack, and over the past few years, many of my boxes have either gone AWOL, have been given away to other folks who had to pack, or just aren't worth the pulp they're recycled from. So, a call for boxes, should anyone in or around the Boston area have any to spare, if you please? I'd be much obliged for assistance in this matter. Yes, I know umpteen places where I can go get some, or dumpster dive for them... but if I can help clean a pile of them out of someone's house, all the better. I'll be posting other stuff I'm looking to either sell cheaply, or give away, over the next few weeks. | | Friday, March 2nd, 2007 | | 12:27 am |
Quantuum Physics in your own family.
Grandmothers knew about duality long before any physicist did. How else could they say, without blinking, "You are too fat" and "You need to eat more" in the same breath? Current Mood: amused | | Thursday, January 25th, 2007 | | 10:45 pm |
Guitar lesson suggestions? (Boston Area)
So, after a lot of time pondering, I think I'm going to do for my guitar playing what I did for my dancing - just find a good place, and jump right in. That being said, do folks have direct experiences with Boston-local guitar music teachers that they wish to share? Baring that, any friend of friends stories? If so, I'd love to hear them. Thank you very much! Current Mood: accomplished | | Wednesday, November 15th, 2006 | | 11:59 am |
A new project...?
After some consideration, I've decided on my next computer project. I'm going to build the WOPR: I think this would be the ultimate case mod for a small cluster of some flavor. Hmmm... Current Mood: amusedCurrent Music: Prodigy - Hotride | | Tuesday, November 14th, 2006 | | 6:39 pm |
Somehow, more real?
After modifications and resizing, this is now out in the wild: Somehow, though nothing has actually changed, it all seems so much more real now. Current Mood: giddy | | Wednesday, November 1st, 2006 | | 3:04 pm |
Subcontract work available.
If you know Microsoft Publisher fairly well, and can be local to the Brookline, MA area this weekend or next week, please drop me a note. I have a client that needs some help/work done, and I'm willing to pay a good rate to someone I can vouch for, | | Friday, October 13th, 2006 | | 6:15 pm |
Cheap spa date?
I have a connection to a spa date in White Plains, NY (12pm-6pm Saturday, and another few hours on Sunday), complete with lunches and more for two people. This weekend. Cost is about $1,500, but total services are for a lot more. (Huge discount here.) Only catch, I need to find two people who want to take this ASAP. If you're interested, please let me know so I can hook you up. Pass the word! :) | | Sunday, October 8th, 2006 | | 7:40 pm |
In honor of Feren...
My name is Ash and I am a slave. As far as I can tell, the year is 2006 AD and I'm being worked to my death. It wasn't always life this, I had a normal life once. I had a beautiful girlfriend named Linda. We decided to go to DeVry and get a degree in IT. While there, we got our degrees, computer services. Roughtly translated, the Parchment of Death. Inked in programmer's blood by manager's hands, it was never meant for the world of the union worker. The parchment awoke something in the world of business, something evil. It hired Linda. Then it came after me. It got into my paycheck and it went bad, so I had to get a second job. But that didn't stop it, it wanted me to work more. (Feel free to continue the movie adaption below.) ;) Current Mood: amused | | Monday, October 2nd, 2006 | | 3:34 pm |
Happiness is...
Every story has a beginning. However, that beginning is just the end of another story. That being said, where to begin? Life has been something of a roller-coaster these past few years. There have been opportunities found, sometimes squandered. Relationships found, lost, rediscovered and lived. Various moves, physically, mentally and emotionally. All in all, after so many years of living, I'm finding that not only am I ready to live, but I've finally been -living-. I'm ready for a new adventure. With great pleasure, I wish to announce that as of this new year, dancingdeer has graciously agreed to be my partner in exploration, and we are now engaged to be married. As she has already brought great comfort and joy into my life, I look forward to what else we will create over the many years to come. Garage/Yard/Cleanup Sales?
I remember at least one, if not more, folks talking about wanting to do a yard sale before the weather really turns foul again. Have any of these plans come to fruition? I have a few boxes of stuff I'd like to generate a few bucks off of, or at the very least remove from the house without removing to land fill. If anyone knows of a sale coming up that I can drop in and help with, and add my stuff, please do let me know! :) |
